Thread: Weird problem about wired cards

hello guys,

have weird problem network cards:

i've been using system around 3 months, days ago had move computer room, switched off normally, unplugged wires, moved computer room, plugged wires , when switched on realized network card didn't work. lights on card switched off although connected lan wire router. think maybe card disabled or blocked in way, don't know how unblock (if problem).

well, when bought computer , installed ubuntu 10.10 on (around 3 months ago) had similar problem... impossible me onboard lan card working (no lights on; activated in bios), decided install old pci realtek card, has been working until moved computer room

both cards "disabled": no lights. , don't know if hardware problem (strange, @ least 1 of cards working before switched computer off, , stopped working when switched computer on 10 minutes later in room) or if ubuntu problem (maybe blocked card?)

have no other os in computer, maybe have install windows system guess if cards work on it, before hope hear guys, maybe gives me clue problem.
