Why don't my renamed folders appear in the library module?

i attended matt's kozlowski's lr4 seminar few months ago. talked not using dates organize folders instead use meaningful description.

 

so @ time of import, add metadata, keywords , rename folder meaningful. said folders cold still found date.

 

so.....on recent trip new hampshire, did work, imported files lr , renamed files @ import pictures directory on laptop.

 

now home exporting catalogue dates , not names gave @ import folders appear in library module.

 

doi have go @ destination , rename folders

 

i must missing something.

 

i want transfer work main computer going bad habits using dates name files.

if @ them on laptop, still appear expected, complete names?

 

if so, show screenshot of laptop folders panel , folders panel after you've done export catalog not working.

 

(and fwiw, majority of digital asset management gurus dates better idea folder names, , use keywords , collections find photos)
