Help! Extra characters showing up next to page headings(00) - Joomla! Forum - community, help and support
hi all!
i'm building website , need on asap!
i created new template based off of beez3 stock template came joomla 3.0.1.
i used dreamweaver cs5 change all instances word "beez3" lay in each , every doc in site folder new name "artley", give new template identity when install template manager.
my modified template installed successfully!
when activated template, worked charm except see character coming after heading or category, "latest articles3>" , "user menu3>", "login form3>", etc, etc. (see attachment). , doesn't matter browser i'm in. characters show in firefox, safari, , google chome.
i figured out character "3>" coming when did inspection in firebug or google chrome. suspect last 2 characters of tag <h3> in each of headings tagged or styled (see - sample tag). don't know how rid of it???

i suspect, not sure of course, permissions issue, or script in js or php file doesn't jive , needs changed, dunno! read in other forums docs need saved without bom when saving utf8 don't know if thats case. prefer advise first knows before start changing formats may or may not need changing.
by way...i'm running page mac computer localhost using xampp 1.7.3 apache , mysql setup. may not able see yet since not yet else can access it.
and also, original beez3 template made new template work fine way , has no such problems. included copy of modified magy_template try out , see if same problem on end , see if perhaps if else here can solve problem.
hope can please , offer possible concrete solutions! in advance!

the problem in code:
o <h3>"latest article3>"
this should be:
o <h3>"latest article"</h3>
this should fix problem -- note <h3> , </h3> tags

additional note (fyi):
you have </h3> tag , end of code example "</h3></div>" bad html format not want have <li></li> tags between <h3></h3> tags not formatted html code.
