Please help with my LoF

hi,

 

i posted following problem continuation of discussion in different thread.  however, reason callout next title in topics list in green , says 'answered' maybe should have asked question in fresh topic.  here's post, please help:

 

i having similar problems list of figures. . upon generation, lof lists graphics in order page number afterwards there no leader , no figure title (e.g., 'figure 1–1 before name of graphic). realize there's no reason lof add figure title it's part of style, maybe there's provision in ref pages allows this.

 

i realize solution in reference pages, having problem toc , told fix pages, , solved problem. however, simple fix able myself. i've been looking @ ref pages list of figures in ref page want emulate, , can't figure out how change ref pages in current lof. tried deleting ref pages , replacing them theref pages 'good' lof, when regenerated, got blank body pages.

 

could please run me through required changes? perhaps hearted expert can let me send them attachments, if help?

ps tried importing formats 'good' lof in book, no go, , tried rename file suggested above, no go.

all generated files instructions reference page name corresponds kind of generated file. iirc, example "toc" toc, "lof" lof. [edit] examine reference page of "good" example toc have see how information corresponds. [/edit] when set generated file, choose source paragraph formats extract; generating file creates reference page, on paragraphs formats have same name specified source paragraphs, suffixed toc or lof, etc., appended name. example heading1toc, or figurelof. unless things have changed in recent releases, need refine font, , other properties of suffixed paragraph formats paragraph designer, suit needs; need set 1 or more tab stops or without leaders , alignments. need insert actual tab characters before or after appropriate building blocks in example paragraphs on reference page.

 

important notes tabs in generated files:

 

* generated results of setting these reference page instructions won't appear on generated file's body page until generate or update within source file or book. confusing part of process how tabs work. while typing tab example paragraph moves building blocks, corresponding body page extracted text doesn't needed tab character until file regenerated. body page tab characters inserted when fm reads reference page example paragraphs , creates tab character in body page output. that's why describe reference pages containing "instructions."

 

* there's pesky potential gotcha when set rightmost tab stop in example suffixed paragraph formats on reference page. reference page text frame's width default, using standard margins. if body page text frame narrower reference page text frame, right-aligned tab stop right of text frame's right border, tab won't recognize , obey it. it's practice set tab stops in generated paragraphs on body page, avoid problem of too-narrow text frame.

 

as how set generated files, search google terms "framemaker creating modifying formatting generated files lists tutorial" without quotes.
