Problem importing and including the subfolders without getting question marks
i trying import folder of vacation pictures. has 5000 pictures , there many subfolders. imports them want gives me question marks on subfolders. , subfolders empty though tells me how many pictures in folder. right clicked question marked folders , point , says there , want merge folders. in importing told include subfolders. have tried twice , each time same results. frustrating have scroll through thousands of pictures. doing wrong.
try sync folders , make sure not moving externally:
synchronize folders
when synchronize folders, have option of adding files have been added folder not imported catalog, removing files have been deleted, , scanning metadata updates. photo files in folder , subfolders can synchronized. can determine folders, subfolders, , files imported.
- in folders panel, select folder want synchronize.
- choose library > synchronize folder.
- in synchronize folder dialog box, of following:
- to import photos appear in folders have not been imported in catalog, select import new photos. if select show import dialog before importing, can specify folders , photos imported.
- to remove photos have been deleted folder not catalog, select remove missing photos catalog. if option dimmed, no files missing. (you can choose show missing photos display photos in grid view.)
- to scan metadata changes made files in application, choose scan metadata updates.
- click synchronize.
- if import photos dialog box opens, specify folders , files want import, , click import.
also:
make sure option "library" -> "show photos in subfolders" enabled. if not enabled, activated folder show photos directly in folder.
