Thread: Configuring samba
hello.
helping teacher set small server himself , students (they're 10 12 years old).
enough, want ubuntu samba. kids young, wanted simple possible (they're using dropbox, school doesn't using 3rd party, it's considered insecure whenever "top man" isn't employee of school).
idea kids keep stuff in home folders, creating user each of children, , network drive home folder (they use windows 7 on laptops). simple enough. friend wants able go folders, able read they're doing, leave comments, etc. so, kids should have access /home/<username>, while friend should have access /home. how can configure samba give user access /home, preferably default?
i make /homes directory shared, add user read/wright access list in samba folder
