Thread: Enablingg Unity, already installed drivers
hey everyone, started using ubuntu in 10.10. when 11.04 came decided wait upgrade. did upgrade 2 days ago , no running 11.04. upon first log in told me usual "drivers/hardware not compatible unity" message. updated drivers recommended , restarted computer. logged in using default "ubuntu" session , fancier version of gnome did in 10.10. main reason upgrading liked unity. if try start unity via terminal (i use commands "unity") computer freezes. assume because gnome still running also. can set unity runs default instead of gnome?
or did wrong?

g in title, sorry typed pretty fast
first, unity based on gnome, no conflicts there. it's rather plugin of compiz, , gnome panel (usually) not running, that's all, apart further settings compiz, possibly.
have gnome panels if log in "ubuntu" session?
