Thread: Had nvidia card with 11.04, replaced it with a Radeon without removing nvidia drivers


hi,

i'm still new unix , ubuntu.

had nvidia card installed on ubuntu-windows dual boot system, , that, had enabled nvidia drivers.

installed amd radeon card, without removing nvidia drivers. now, when start ubuntu, not graphical user interface, shell/text based interface.

guessing because installed nvidia drivers causing problems radeon card. how un-install them , user-interface back? there way run without using nvidia drivers?

if installed driver via gui
sudo apt-get remove nvidia-current nvidia-settings
if instlalled via nvidia's run file
sudo nvidia-installer --uninstall
