Thread: n00b problem- mouse sensitivity
hi all. did full install of lubuntu 11.04 on old laptop (fujitsu siemens amilo) via cd burned iso.
mouse movement erratic & can't adjust it. &
i've used 2 wired optical mice, same results.
i've tried via gui & terminal, changes don't take effect. trackpad on laptop works fine.
in gui (preferences>keyboard & mouse), window closes after release left button, changes aren't saved. same trying adjustments via trackpad.
i've tried using "xinput" via terminal, i'm struggling.
in gui, mouse acceleration 20, sensitivity 100.
in xinput, values mouse & trackpad identical:
that doesn't make sense me, thought threshold=sensitivity, assumed mouse show higher threshold trackpad?ptrfeedbackclass id=0
accelnum 20
acceldenom 10
threshold 10
i've tried manually changing mouse variables via "set-ptr-feedback" doesn't affect mouse behaviour.
i've been using ubuntu week (mainly on laptop no issues) , i'm stuck now. 2 mice work fine on other laptop (ubuntu 11.04).
gratefully received!
i've got following info through xinput list --long:
presumably need make mouse values identical trackpads?↳ microsoft compact optical mouse 500 id=10 [slave pointer (2)]
