Thread: ubuntu 10.04 doesn't work after fresh install

hi, after the succesfull installation of windows 7 on hdd 1 , ubuntu 10.04 (64 bit) on hdd 2 encountered problem running ubuntu. after selecting ubuntu in grub boot manager login form fires screen split in 2 black column @ center of monitor (i can move mouse border on 1 side , appears on other). if enter correct password nothing happens. tried run ubuntu trough recovery option in grub shows purple screen , freezing up. windows works fine btw. have reinstalled ubuntu once same results. have no idea what's wrong or how fix it, please help. system config: intel e6600 dual-core 6 gb ram amd hd6870 hdd 1 1tb hdd 2 250gb

have tried burning new disc? installation discs should burned @ 16x or lower.

i have after effects cs6 in computer cs5.5 installed. 64bit windows 7 ultimate 20gb memory , 2 amd radeon hd 6900 series display adapters drivers updated hour ago (driver date 27.7.2012, version 8.982.0.0).   when trying use after ecffects, error message " after effect warning: problem occurred when processing opengl commands " when clicking composition window.   what done? not much, i'm afraid. need older graphics driver. other disable second card or play configuration. unfortunately not smart person decided cs6 no longer need manual opengl control user, there's no way suppress within program force-revert software-only modes in case of such issues...   mylenium More discussions in After Effects adobe
