Thread: Installing a tar.gz and ./configure doesn't work


attempting install "hullform" ( http://www.hullform.com/ )
available tar.gz.
unarchive /usr/local/src, , attempt ./configure location.


code:
andrew@andrew-desktop:/usr/local/src$ ./configure  bash: ./configure: no such file or directory
i have attempted ./configure within folders shown below.

andrew@andrew-desktop:/usr/local/src$ ls  header.dxf  hf9p.tar  hullform      hullstat.cfg  project     template         hulldata  hullform.cfg  output        tables.dxf
i have ensured have build-essentials installed/up date.



using 10.04, way.
