Thread: Need help installing Canon Pixma MX350
hello all.
still consider myself new ubuntu, though i'm learning quite bit , in process of working pcs , laptops @ home. having issue doing installing printer/scanner/fax , having access functions.
so, after searching forums, found this
went here , downloaded .tar , i'm ready do........something.
can see printer on wlan ip address, , ubuntu found (running 10.10, way). open system > admin > printers window, click "add", "network printer". typed in ip address wlan settings on machine, , found right away. not sure "queue" , "connections" selections supposed about. let chose default ones, , that's when starts looking drivers.
kind of @ loss @ point. have file downloaded, can't figure out open to, , put drivers printer see them.
i'm still trying figure out how unpack files, , goes. so, if like, step step me through this, i'd appreciate it.
thanks!
update:
went online here , followed directions. didn't work well, ended following link administrator page (at bottom of page). followed directions there, , still couldn't work or see or recognise printer.
so.....when else fails, reboot. did, , went system > administration > printing , started add printer. when came time drivers, low , behold, mx350 in list now! yay! clicked on it, followed instructions (i lot), , there was!
worked beautifully, , can print....
so, how set scanning , faxing? haven't tried yet, i'll work on later.
