Thread: Software RAID 1 setup

problem: want have offsite copies of /home , media backups. not want use web based solutions (time, money, control). plan data 1 tb drive , mirror drive using raid 1. mirror drive stored offsite , brought weekly updating. have kingwin kf-1000-bk 3.5" internal hot swap rack removing/inserting mirror drive.

questions:

1. formating of drives required before setting raid. did: format drive - guid; format volume - ext4; format partition - linux raid partition.
want know if using guid cause problems raid 1 (its newer more features).

used command > mdam create raid. raid syncing drives takes long time don't know if going work.

in advance suggestions.

no 1 has replied, post in case else has similar questions in future.

syncing finished , far seems working.

After Effect warning: A problem occurred when processing OpenGL commands

i have after effects cs6 in computer cs5.5 installed. 64bit windows 7 ultimate 20gb memory , 2 amd radeon hd 6900 series display adapters drivers updated hour ago (driver date 27.7.2012, version 8.982.0.0).   when trying use after ecffects, error message " after effect warning: problem occurred when processing opengl commands " when clicking composition window.   what done? not much, i'm afraid. need older graphics driver. other disable second card or play configuration. unfortunately not smart person decided cs6 no longer need manual opengl control user, there's no way suppress within program force-revert software-only modes in case of such issues...   mylenium More discussions in After Effects adobe
