AI CS5.1 vrs AI CS6 Performance Issue MacPro

hi,

i have been happily using ai cs 5.1 (from 5.5) , have series of files created. 20x24, 300 dpi , have type , drawing , placed 300 dpi 16x20.psd file. open in 3 seconds on v5.1, , on v6 take 3-5 minutes open. it's torture.

 

working series of 9 different similar files drove me v5.1!

 

i have 2009 macpro 3,1 2x2.8 quad core intel xeon 8 gb ram.

 

any appreciated.

 

some minor points:

 

do need more ram cs6? i've read on forum 64 bit apps ram, seems odd things click , pop in older version , kill me in cs6 version.

 

what slowing down performance? hardware, software or combination of 2?

 

when did adobe drop prgress bar feedback during open. waiting 5 minutes file open without indication it's working bad. dock icon long ago had progress bar on app icon. wonder when changed?

After Effect warning: A problem occurred when processing OpenGL commands

i have after effects cs6 in computer cs5.5 installed. 64bit windows 7 ultimate 20gb memory , 2 amd radeon hd 6900 series display adapters drivers updated hour ago (driver date 27.7.2012, version 8.982.0.0).   when trying use after ecffects, error message " after effect warning: problem occurred when processing opengl commands " when clicking composition window.   what done? not much, i'm afraid. need older graphics driver. other disable second card or play configuration. unfortunately not smart person decided cs6 no longer need manual opengl control user, there's no way suppress within program force-revert software-only modes in case of such issues...   mylenium More discussions in After Effects adobe
