Converted to DNG but LR4 sees .dng files as RAW?

hey,

i converted bunch of photos today canon cr2 dng using library->convert photos dng option , chose delete originals. firstly lr decided not delete originals, annoying ended 2 copies of every photo , nerve racking manually deleting cr2 originals in unsure knowledge the dngs working versions!

anyway, real issue seems lr thinks .dng files using raw files, if use metadata filter , choose filetype first column shows raw latest files converted, when click it, lists .dng files, saving metadata on these files works correctly dng files reason lr won't filter or show them dng. strange, have other photos dng format , metadata filter works correctly these, latest batch converted refuses list dng filetype.

is there way 'force' lr recognise these files dng , not raw. if choose "convert photos raw" again on 1 of these dng files creates '.swp' file original .dng , again left 2 copies of every photo grrrrr!! converting current dngs dngs again seems cause metadata filter etc. work , see them dngs have many photos in situation , don't want convert them dng again , manually go , delete these .swp files, don't going round deleting thousands of photos manually i'm paranoid of deleting wrong ones.

could related/caused me having photos stored on network drive (does explain why lr refuses delete originals , leaves 1000s of .swp files everywhere me manually go , tidy grrrrrrr!)??

thanks!

also, if create new catalog , import these .dng files, in new catalog correctly recognises , lists them "digital negative / lossloss" , not "raw" in original catalog.
