Lens Profile Missing for Tiffs
the lens profile nikon 28-300 listed under lens corrections when using raw files. if import tiff or psd, it's not there (other lenses there)
any way profile show when working tiffs or psds? thanks
i'm using lr 4.1
each lens profile generated either raw or non-raw test shots. accordingly, profile marked suitable correcting either raw, or non-raw pictures taken same lens on same camera format. either show up, or not, in automatic lens profile detection of lr or of acr depending on type of file involved.
generally speaking, raw specific profiles made available many lenses... because principal demand. usual case lens correction has happened, original raw data, part of lightroom's general processing has gone tiff created; hence, tiffs can assumed not in need of such.
this separation of 2 kinds of lens profile necessary in cases; example aberration correction have been applied camera, jpg output only; and/or, lr doing (possibly different) automatic lens correction "silently", raw - support m43 systems.
however not case - no prior correction in question - raw-specific lens profile can "kludged" usable tiff, jpg etc - far better nothing.
the way make duplicate copy of profile (.lcp) concerned - changing filename suit. in text editor, in copy, change line refers "camerarawprofile" true false. that's it!
if there double correction going on, option there selectively disable profile-based correction of vignetting, or of geometric distortion, or else disable ca removal, appropriate - , save option preset or lr processing default.
