Photoshop CS3 slow to open files

i have looked @ answers can find far on , other forums, have not yet been able effect solution, please bear me, , can assist further.

 

the problem opening files painfully slow - having read issue network printers (which don't have) have deleted listed under printers , re-installed printer have (which locally attached via usb, deleted in case adobe thought network printer).

i have tried create generic printer (as recommended mr joslin jangel2 http://forums.adobe.com/message/2657130#2657130), installation failed , no additional printers visible in control panel/printers.

 

i running windows 7 on dell desktop, plenty of memory etc.

 

i have number of external hard drives, , have turned these on photoshop can find them in case it's looking, made no difference.

i @ loss , hope can help.

has started recently?  if have added or changed software - anti-virus program?

After Effect warning: A problem occurred when processing OpenGL commands

i have after effects cs6 in computer cs5.5 installed. 64bit windows 7 ultimate 20gb memory , 2 amd radeon hd 6900 series display adapters drivers updated hour ago (driver date 27.7.2012, version 8.982.0.0).   when trying use after ecffects, error message " after effect warning: problem occurred when processing opengl commands " when clicking composition window.   what done? not much, i'm afraid. need older graphics driver. other disable second card or play configuration. unfortunately not smart person decided cs6 no longer need manual opengl control user, there's no way suppress within program force-revert software-only modes in case of such issues...   mylenium More discussions in After Effects adobe
