Thread: Cannot Access Internet from Adhoc Network

i've laptop connected ethernet. want access internet n900 through wifi( available on laptop). created adhoc network on laptop , connected smart phone it. still cannot access internet phone. going wrong?? or there way acces internet phone via laptop?

ps: followed procedure given in this link create adhoc network.

i think need set laptop wireless access point (ap mode) , not ad-hoc or infrastructure mode.

basing answer on information in motherboard user guide. motherboard has built in wireless adapter can used in 1 of 3 modes. access point, ad-hoc , infrastructure mode. done through operating system. motherboard maker has provided windows utility set not linux utility. sadly, ubuntu network manger utility allow set mode ad-hoc or infrastructure not access point mode.

here links may you:

https://help.ubuntu.com/community/br...workinterfaces

suggest research access point mode in linux or ubuntu , bridging. think need create sort of communication bridge between ethernet adapter in laptop connected internet , wireless adapter in laptop mobile phone connecting to.

know information not set in right direction.

regards.
