Thread: Disabling video powersave (maybe)

i installed latest 32 bit (intel) xubuntu on ibm aptiva e series 585 500mhz pentium , 256mb ram. video gforce mx/mx400. think have couple of problems first video seems power down after while , won't restart. when find screen blank, pressing key give brief flash of screen image, nothing , no response kbd activity try. had use alt installer same problem, ie. screen going missing , had same lubuntu. logon screen after while locks. can recovery logon lock after time. got working gui once selecting "user defined session" after locked never worked again. fwiw box running w2k successfully, don't suspect hardware problem. ran gparted live cd fine. and, tried shutdown typing "invisible" terminal no luck, kbd not getting through either.

clue or suggestions appreciated. build these gift machines kids @ wifes after school/ summer camp.

i build gift machines , manage sell few. , have notice (old machines) produce quite bit of heat, enough shut them down. take case off , run it. if keeps cool, maybe add fan , few more miles out of it...

After Effect warning: A problem occurred when processing OpenGL commands

i have after effects cs6 in computer cs5.5 installed. 64bit windows 7 ultimate 20gb memory , 2 amd radeon hd 6900 series display adapters drivers updated hour ago (driver date 27.7.2012, version 8.982.0.0).   when trying use after ecffects, error message " after effect warning: problem occurred when processing opengl commands " when clicking composition window.   what done? not much, i'm afraid. need older graphics driver. other disable second card or play configuration. unfortunately not smart person decided cs6 no longer need manual opengl control user, there's no way suppress within program force-revert software-only modes in case of such issues...   mylenium More discussions in After Effects adobe
