Thread: Installing RT2860 driver?
hey guys,
i've been snooping around on forums couple of hours looking straightforward guide installing custom wireless drivers. have new airlink101 awlh6075 wireless card (and no ethernet connectivity.) linux drivers rt2860 ralink drivers in .tar, have on different computer.
-- i'm on server (command-line only), 64-bit, no working internet. btw, wifi card works fine on alternate boot of windows. wlan0 (wlan1?) not detected during installation.
so, know need to:
1. mount usb drive i'm storing file(s) on
2. put files in local linux directory
3. somehow install them
4. (disable old ethernet connection?)
5. enable new wlan0 , set dhcp , wep login.
6. make primary connection?
i'm guessing here. iwconfig results in
wlan1: ieee802.11bgn essid:off/any
mode:managed access point: not-associated tx-power=0 dbm
retry long limit:7 rts thr:off fragment thr:off
power management:off
, other apparently irrelevant stuff ("lo -- no wireless extensions" etc).
appreciate can of these things. don't know how mount usb stick in command-line... internet connectivity (and driver installation) major issue here , can find out of other stuff on own. in advance,
bodie
can give results these commands individually
also have attempted install ralink drivers yet ?code:lsmod lspci sudo lshw -c network
