can 1 me game installed? keeps getting stuck on downloading patch. please help.

i've seen here, read unanswer... thought maybe moderator here move forum would, but...

tip- ubuntu linux system seem running , want installing game. need better answered in either ubuntu's "games , leisure" forum or ubuntu's "wine" forum. since bioshock windows game, better addressed in "wine" forum... there might have not experience installing under wine, tips tweaking , tuning in wine run / play better.

lot of gamer's run windows games under wine visit wine forum share tricks , ask questions. lot of gamers using , playing linux games, visit games , leisure forum.

said, here instructions installing bioshock under wine:

how bioshock running (under wine)
install game in normal way inserting disk drive , running setup.exe wine (or downloading steam version).

once game installed following steps need taken ensure runs correctly (by running code below in terminal) :-

install vcrun2005 winetricks package (by running code below in terminal) :-

sh winetricks vcrun2005

once has been done, add following dll overides libraries tab of wine.cfg :-

msvcp80 (native) openal32 (native0

make sure in audio tab of winecfg have alsa driver selected audio driver.
make sure wine version set xp. best run game in wine window. set resolution 1366x768 in graphics tab of wine. in game set textures , other options medium.

game run.
