Trouble with color change effect
i new after effects, , tried basic color change effect on 1 of video clips. attempt try , change blue flag red 4to 5 seconds , blue.
the end result looks pretty shabby. when change blue red happens, surrounding pixels red dots, of blue remains blue , if try change red via second color change effect, surrounding landscape turns red.
here's link video:
here's did:
1) after making footage composition, renamed layer1 , corrected exposure , color on original footage remove bluish white balance on entire video.
2) copy pasted layer , renamed layer 2 placing below layer 1.
3) on layer1- made mask outlining flag , ensured mask path not stray away flag using keyframes.
4) mask opacity set 1st keyframe @ 0 seconds @ 100%, 2nd keyframe set 100% on 1 frame before color change supposed end. 3rd keyframe set 0% on immediate next frame.
5) used color change effect on layer 1 mask. keyframed @ no value on 0 seconds , again no value 1 frame before color changee supposed happen. next keyframe on next frame color change effect fed in. placed next keyframe 4 seconds later same color effect. shifted 1 frame ahead , reset color change original.
basically color change takes place @ right time etc, red pixels smear surrounding pixels. on how can done better?
p.s. sorry admin, tried posting video link via code recommended not showing up, put in youtube code itself.
there many tone variations in blue flag change color not effect should using.
if have rotoscoped layer (cut out flag) i'd apply slight feather copy, apply tint, , animate opacity of copy.
you use adjustment layer. here's screenshot of flag adjustment layer that's masked (rotoscoped) , tint applied. use hue/saturation. change color isn't choice such highly compressed , soft footage.
