wsconfig drops CFIDE virtual directory

we running issue when adding sites using wsconfig tool.  here's our setup: windows 2k8 r2, iis 7.5, cf 9 multiserver configuration 4 instances running.

we have site setup in iis virtual directory created cfide (points c:\inetpub\wwwroot\cfide, default/install path cfide).  go wsconfig tool (run administrator) , add new site instance.  cfide virtual directory disappears within iis, whether choose restart iis or not.  check "configure server coldfusion box" when adding.

i've checked wsconfig.log, shows nothing, no errors, 1 line "[date] [time] info macromedia jrun 4.0 (build 108858)" - that's it.  else fine, adds correct handler mappings, etc. , site works fine, missing cfide virtual directory needed use couple cf tags load js files under there work...

we go in afterwards , re-add cfide virtual directory , seems stick unless mess wsconfig again, have work-around, step , puzzled why happen.  have hundreds of sites setup, save time fix this.

anyone else ever run across situation before?

cfarleyaz, you’re on “cf 9”, can more specific? technically, cf 9.0.1 , above (9.0.2 or 10) supports iis 7. if you’re on cf9.0, adobe not formally support running cf iis 7, except in iis 6 compatibility mode. people got work, involved manual steps (perhaps including dealing you’re noticing).

if experiencing cf 9.0.1 or above, let know if running iis in iis 6 compat mode? may make difference in may propose help.

while we’re on subject, folks should note that  things indeed quite different cf web server config iis 7 , cf 9.01 , above. instance, no longer works newly created sites inherit settings “all web sites” configuration. instead (as discussed in cf 9.0.1 doc, configuring , administering cf9), have rerun web server config tool each time add new site (that want connect cf).

hope that’s helpful.
