Acrobat X Pro hangs

hello,

 

i trying use acrobat x pro (10.1.4) on apple macbook pro running mountain lion (10.8).  when launch acrobat , select "combine files pdf", shown add file screen.  when click "add files" button, offered select file documents folder. if try change source directory, is, navigate subdirectory of documents, acrobat hangs , have force quit.

 

sometimes, instead of showing me documents directory, acrobat hangs when click on "add files."

 

i have java se 6 installed , preference set use 64-bit version.

 

what troubleshooting steps can suggest?

message edited by: tseanschulze  in meantime i've discovered don't have acrobat. after thirty seconds hang on own.  checked top, , acrobat while hung using 99 100% cpu.

i using mountain lion not seeing such acrobat hang issue.

do crash dialog on force quitting acrobat? please share crash log here.
