Epub Export InDesign CS6 BUG (or new / improved feature)

it seems adobe digital editions (http://www.adobe.com/products/digitaleditions/) version 1.7.2 , older cannot display epubs exported id cs6. somewhere in font embedding engine goes terribly wrong.

 

here see epub exported id cs6 (trial)

what strange: adobe digital edition preview (1.8.4 http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/digitaleditions1-8/) displays id cs 6 generated epub ok.

for ask, language romanian. typeface (font used) liberationserif.ttf. have tried embedding other fonts (warnock pro otf, times new roman , problem remains). use glyphs latin 2 extended map ăîșțâ ĂîȘȚÂ or legacy Ş/ş andŢ/ţ (instead of coma below/cedilla s/s , t/t proper displaying in old e-ink devices , on). sure other languages have same problem. eastern european languages.

 

 

so asked self happens? both id cs 5.5 , cs 6 strip font character map deleting unused glyphs when embedding. meaning character map reduced hold glyphs used in document , typeface smaller in kb.

 

 

when epub see these. font embedded in id cs 5.5 export liberationserif.ttf 98 kb.

 

 

also able open font , have @ in font lab, (here below id cs 5.5 embedded font liberationserif.ttf 98 kb).

i not able open font embedded id cs 6 exported epub in font lab, (here below id cs 6 embedded font liberationserif.ttf smaller in kb 1 in id cs 5.5 export – 23 kb).

i not able see/view font id cs 6 uses in exported epub (with other font viewer).

 

what strange? adobe digital editions preview seems display epub ok. calibre. not standard ade (which still used @ large scale not on desktops on several devices).

 

so why id cs 6 export epub makes font unusable , id cs 5.5 keeps ok?

 

furthermore if expand book , copy font id cs 5.5 exported epub id cs 6 exported epub comes fine. meaning epub display ok on ade.

 

i need new features in id cs 6 why buy software cannot generate epub files language?

After Effect warning: A problem occurred when processing OpenGL commands

i have after effects cs6 in computer cs5.5 installed. 64bit windows 7 ultimate 20gb memory , 2 amd radeon hd 6900 series display adapters drivers updated hour ago (driver date 27.7.2012, version 8.982.0.0).   when trying use after ecffects, error message " after effect warning: problem occurred when processing opengl commands " when clicking composition window.   what done? not much, i'm afraid. need older graphics driver. other disable second card or play configuration. unfortunately not smart person decided cs6 no longer need manual opengl control user, there's no way suppress within program force-revert software-only modes in case of such issues...   mylenium More discussions in After Effects adobe
