How do I reverse an inadvertent catalog conversion in PSE8?

i have been using pse8 several years.  after using week, when tried open today, got message said effect "cannot open because file corrupt or cannot updated and/or catalog should converted".  suspecting after many years had many files, thought needed convert (not knowing meant , no explanation clear).  after many attempts, did (converted) files included in organizer files contained in previous pse version 6.  nothing beyond 2009 exists in catalog.  made many albums our travels in 2010, 2011, & 2012 spent hours creating , can't stomach idea they're lost.

 

i have been looking through sites can find, cannot find explanation of how to, or if possible, find old (new) catalog , switch back.  i'm thinking system restore not sure that's efficient way fix problem.  offer appreciated!

 

i using hp pavillion desktop, 320 gb hard drive (92 gb free), vista home premium x64

 

check see if have more 1 catalog opening organizer , on menu clicking:

 

file >> catalog

 

when catalog dialog opens see if additional current catalog listed. if is, highlight other catalog , click open button.

 

there 3 options check see if listed in each one.

1. catalogs accessible users

2. catalogs accessible current user

3. custom location

After Effect warning: A problem occurred when processing OpenGL commands

i have after effects cs6 in computer cs5.5 installed. 64bit windows 7 ultimate 20gb memory , 2 amd radeon hd 6900 series display adapters drivers updated hour ago (driver date 27.7.2012, version 8.982.0.0).   when trying use after ecffects, error message " after effect warning: problem occurred when processing opengl commands " when clicking composition window.   what done? not much, i'm afraid. need older graphics driver. other disable second card or play configuration. unfortunately not smart person decided cs6 no longer need manual opengl control user, there's no way suppress within program force-revert software-only modes in case of such issues...   mylenium More discussions in After Effects adobe
