How to make a Joomla website more secure - Joomla! Forum - community, help and support

unfortunately, have discovered, official hungarian joomla website has been hacked (http://www.joomla. org.hu/). had been offline few weeks, message said updating site, , yesterday, saw had been hacked. since then, i'm bit worried joomla site's security (using latest version, 3.0.2).
so have searched around, read security checklist, , related docs. have installed admin tools free component. component have set password protect "administrator" (well, can in cpanel), , set unique super admin id. other steps should take (or components should install) make sure site can't hacked?
also, see if try access http://www.joomla.org/administrator, redirects main page. how possible? safer method, protecting password?
