Thread: ACPI boot options

looking in system monitor saw cpu usage rather high(in low 20% average use). after research found acpi may problem. used 'acpi=off' boot command boot options list/ubuntu , cpu usage dropped acceptable level. acpi errors had in logging no longer occurring. ask - should continue use boot command or should try others boot options list? , disabling acpi risk possible system hardware damage?

acpi manages (among other things) power/performance states of cpu. turning acpi off won't damage anything.
