Thread: can't find filezilla from the command line

i've spent way time on ask dumb question. have installed filezilla on ubuntu 11.04 apt-get. in file viewer shows in /usr/bin/filezilla. if click on it runs expected. problem create link on desktop or @ least able run command line. (it's pain have scroll down in applications menu find each time.) terminal trying create link or running gives message can't find file. ls /usr/bin/fi* doesn't list filezilla. lists file before , after not filezilla. permissions same of other executable files. why show in file viewer not on command line?

you can create launcher filezilla. take @ instructions here.

alternatively, if want made-for-command-line ftp program, suggest lftp

code:
man lftp
