2.5.7 Install stuck at language selection (Mediatemple GS) - Joomla! Forum - community, help and support
edit: resolved, kinda. problem somewhere in php.ini. don't have better info currently. i'll try figure out , update post.
i trying simple deploy of 2.5.7 on mediatemple gs. upon choosing language , clicking next, spinning wheel of death.
it seems permissions issue, there limited permission controls available on mediatemple gs service. have been mt years , have never had issue joomla. again, first 2.5 install.
i uploading elevated account available and, far can determine, premissions , group ownership idential working 1.x sites running. fastcgi on.
according mt support should easy unpacking, uploading, , running install, agree with. unfortunately reality unkind sometimes. also, docs seem have been written 1.x, suspicious of relevance of feedback getting support.
current troubleshooting steps taken:
- ensured fastcgi enabled
- re-downloded/extracted/uploaded joomla files several times, several user contexts, no change.
- deleted , recreated domain/webroot, uploaded serveradmin account.
- compared problem install directory ownership/permissions existing, working, 1.x sites.
- reviewed php.ini weirdness (it no frills setup , default mt)
kind of @ loss... find few mentions of same or similar problems online no clear resolutions.

- what database version ?
- what language selecting ?
- are there red settings on first installation page ?
- have tried different browsers ?
- have tried clearing browser cache ?

if me try laptop please pm me url , database host/name/user/pass , can give go. had user on here other day similar problem , installed ok here.
