how to recreate old .indd document into a new one
hi there,
last year did catalogue of sportswear products. contained 550 items , each cell-item had 3 images , 5 textframes. creating new catalogue, should contain 80% of old items. images & information according product same. problem is, has have different {layout & styling, etc.}.
i ask master-adwice: have cut & paste 10 000 times images & textframes old indd file new 1 , restyle & resize & repose afterwards or there sophisticated recipe how use computing power of machine , simple tell program, all textfields in old indd document styled "header 01" should imported textframes styled "newheader 01" in new indd document? or named ranges:
old-indd > excel > new-indd?
i eager find way how save week of monkey work of ctrl+c > v

if delete used paragraph style, indesign asks should replaced. easy enough? :-)
but have take care inspect original style "based on" features, other styles derived it.
are style changes big cannot away re-defining existing one?
.. unfortunately, there not similar trick automatically resize graphics , tables ..
