Modules gone on full article view - Joomla! Forum - community, help and support

ok...this strangest thing. create blog category, added articles, created menu link "category blog" type, assigned modules menu item....all standard simple stuff. but, when clicking on article read full article, modules gone , article goes full width.

i have second blog category modules fine, works fine, other doesn't.

i created new blog category, did test article, did new menu link it, assigned module, , worked. moved other articles new category blog, assigned modules , got rid of old menu link. worked.

...until today, it's doing again, modules disappearing. if set modules "all" show up. reassign them other "all" disappear on 1 category. have sef disabled, , tried beez5 template, , same issue happening category blog losing modules on full article view, should confirm it's not template doing it.

any idea makes modules disappear when viewing full article?

ok...this messed up. found problem , guessing joomla bug. here issue:

i have 2 menu items:

1. 1 category blog type pointing 1 category
2. second category list type assigned same category other.

the idea display 1 typical blog layout have other article list layout. however, if person clicks on menu item (category blog layout) clicks on article full view, modules disappear because not assigned other menu item category list. therefore, joomla inheriting layout , not category blog layout, though person went location , not through list menu link.

hope made sense me, has bug. cannot believe coded function way because becomes problem.

is there solution achieve both menu links same category 1 category blog , other category list, making sure if click category blog module assignments inherit layout , not list (and vice versa)?
