Thread: How to stop screen blanking without rebooting?

can advise me of how turn screen/monitor blank off without rebooting (or if there way)?

have tried:

code:
setterm -blank 0
which has worked in slackware, red had , fedora. have went screen saver , set never putting computer sleep. have unchecked screensaver when computer idle. in advance other suggestions of might missing.

have applications running need monitor. @ present every few minutes have go on computer , hit key. i'm hoping can remove blanking without having cancel applications, make changes xorg.conf , reboot.
