i'm wondering if there somewhere guy can @ , possibly purchase server components make own build. same way desktop unit going newegg or tiger direct or something. price right there in black , white. components right there detailed specs observe. easy peasy.

want @ that, not end user desktops, enterprise class servers. not have call company , have them give quote , build quarter millon dollar server farm. that's kinda hard when don't know need, , don't need quarter millon dollar setup, right? if can find "the newegg of enterprise class server components" can learn lot - expecially learning can had things begin $ sign.

so, example, can go , @ 8 socket mobos. mobo. 100 of em' lined next each other , price right there in bold whole world see. how bout same opteron 8380? or ram comes in 16 gb stick?

server hardware same desktop hardware often, maybe more memory or raid configurations certiainly , in u form factors.
