Filtermodule interface and program crash when launching Silver Efex 2 from PSE10

when launching silve efex photoshop elements 10 either getting "filtermodule interface" error or "program execution error" when launch nik software panel or filter menu respectively.

 

a complete reinstall of both programs did not resolve issue. other filters work fine. systeminformation (see below) lists silver efex twice. not sure if normal or not. deinstalling silver efex removes both entires. reinstalling adds both.

 

if exit program after crash process zombie remains behind.

 

nik software not able find solution yet , hoping ideas adobe side wrong.

 

the combination worked before , stopped working without changes either pse or silver efex (as can tell). there seems third element in this. deinstalled new programs since last time working did not fix it. windows 7 restore failed.

 

appreciate ideas else can try fix it.
