Personal Cloud Support?

i have project security reasons requires media not stored in cloud.  i'm trying build system keeps lightroom catalog , pictures synced between 2 or more macs.

 

my current plan use chronosync synchronize catalogs on macs, , have media on network server each mac uses same path reference original.  can see 2 ways of method breaking:

1. if both catalogs modified simultaneously, or @ least before syn. [kind of how is, managed discipline]
2. if media shot while laptop in field, can sync catalog , media when back, lightroom catalog still pointing @ media on local storage on laptop.  

that second case worries me.   since lightroom nondestructive avoids dangerous case of on laptop continuing work on wrong (local) copies of pictures, not realizing they're not updating shared copies, still, seems should move, not mirror laptop data server when network forced locate new media next time try access either computer.

 

actually -- lightroom nondestructive?  metadata changed in dng, or metadata stored in catalog?  there option i'm going need set?

 

is there better way handle this? 

 

what best way make relinking files go smoother?  maintain folder structure relative to... what?

lr not made multi user support.

 

the best way have central catalog systems in network use.

this possible trick it´s not recommended or supported adobe.

 

lr works nondestructive when comes raw image data.
but change metadata in files when choose "automatically write changes xmp" in catalog settings.

yes that´s how it.

 

i have images on laptop when shoot out in field.

as come home move them workplace system , copy them backup harddisks.

so don´t major processing or editing on laptop later.

the basic editing in field copied on workplace when move files. it´s stored in dng or xmp files.

i use "automatically write changes xmp".... makes lr bit slower not notice on systems (i7 ssd´s).

but thing is, files carry important data.... in case of broken catalog , 3 backup catalogs not working... "last line of defence".
