Thread: 4TB RAID-0: can only access 1.64TiB

hardware used
- msi 790x-g45 motherboard
- old drives: 2x samsung ecogreen f2 hd502hi, 500gb
- new drives: 2x hitachi deskstar 5k3000, 2tb
- using onboard amd raid capability
- using ubuntu 11.04 live cd

since current raid-0 config of 1tb getting full, decided order 2 2tb disks, put them in raid-0 config , clone current raid-0 1tb config new 4tb config using dd. however, things didn't quite work out way should be.. when looked in gparted, saw 1.64tib of array being detected, independent disks shown full 2tb. know how can fix this? here screenshots show gparted shows me:

thinking must glitch in gparted, started dd operation anyway, disappointment, dd operation didn't quite work out way should either: instead of writing old array new one, wrote first disk of new array instead array whole. again, here screenshots (i've tried fiddling raid controller breaking array etc. /dev/mapper/ name different, pretend it's same 1 in above screenie):

i'm not linux guru (using win7 main os), know way around linux. have absolutely no idea causing this... hope here knows what's happening

*bump*
anyone?
