Thread: Dell GX260 + a newbie = issues

hello 1 , all,

google-fu appears weak on 1 forgive me if has been covered.
here steps , conclusions i've come far.

tried install latest version of ubuntu on old dell gx260, boots far looks desktop\install screen starts spitting out errors , won't let me install.

tried number of other modern releases of linux , did same kind of things, fedora boots desktop can't click install icon, suse shows me green screen suse logo, gentoo.... well... i'm new , got part way through install , had no idea going on.

being windows background figure "hey, maybe installing windows 7 on old machine" start looking older version of ubuntu use. handful i've tried have had same issues untill tried 4.10.

presume it's kind of driver issue so,

there way of upgrading 4.10 latest release?
else have ubuntu on gx260, if so, version?
there way of "slip steeaming" drivers gx260 ubuntu install cd?

know should newer machine install on want try out on before go whole hog , switch.

After Effect warning: A problem occurred when processing OpenGL commands

i have after effects cs6 in computer cs5.5 installed. 64bit windows 7 ultimate 20gb memory , 2 amd radeon hd 6900 series display adapters drivers updated hour ago (driver date 27.7.2012, version 8.982.0.0).   when trying use after ecffects, error message " after effect warning: problem occurred when processing opengl commands " when clicking composition window.   what done? not much, i'm afraid. need older graphics driver. other disable second card or play configuration. unfortunately not smart person decided cs6 no longer need manual opengl control user, there's no way suppress within program force-revert software-only modes in case of such issues...   mylenium More discussions in After Effects adobe
