Thread: Mouse left-click right-click issues for tabs, menu, window selection & moving windows

i installed ubuntu 11.04 fresh, home partition intact maverick. while on start-up, when first opening firefox, cant select alternate tab selection of multiple tabs (home pages) until select menu item – using classic (no effects).
when select alternate tab cannot select menu item until right-clicking somewhere on ff page.
after using writer cant view or go ff properly, writer window stays in forefront.
can't grab writer window move out of way, clicking , dragging left mouse button not have affect. left-clicking somewhere on writer page allows me move writer window , allows me select ff window , bring forefront.
same procedure, right-clicking allow window changes, has done before being able minimise window.
when update manager or compizconfig settings manager windows in forefront have found no way of being able move them or doing stuff in writer or ff, unless 'alt + f4' close window.
other left , right mouse buttons work expected.
keyboard works fine, limited knowledge of keyboard shortcuts is.

thing behaviour inconsistent @ times. meaning can move , switch between windows @ times without having left-click.
don't dare click on 'show desktop' disable mouse clicking efforts!
weird thing when selected synaptic side-menu list when had unity or panel in classic no effects (currently) throws black screen hourglass icon , normal screen message: “could not grab mouse – malicious client may eavesdropping on session or may have clicked menu or application decided focus. try again.”

have tried different suggestions found other similar issues found in forums, such changing window management settings in compizconfig , uninstalling x-server-xorg-video-nouveau display driver, these options have had no effect.

have asus p7h55d-m evo m.board , using intel graphics incorporated i5-661 processor.

if have suggestions involve using terminal, please post full commands not i'm afraid.

lack of replies mean looks part of can't fixed till next release, or peculiar system/situation?
