Thread: Unity and Gnome not working properly

hello, everyone, natty user here. i'm having trouble unity , gnome (with effects); starters, there's huge black rectangle on both environments, open not shown on screen , there's lots of graphical glitches. can boot ubuntu using gnome without effects (ubuntu classic (no effects)).

i'm not experienced ubuntu yet (i've been using 3 months only)

worth mentioning reinstalled ubuntu 3 times , happened after updated, installed compiz , xorg ati drivers , rebooted. don't have of problem using gnome, i'd fix because i'm used unity.

specs are:
ati radeon x300
amd athlon 3800+ @ 2.4 ghz
1 gb ram

reinstall ubuntu once more, don't know what's causing problem , happen again.

you check additional drivers (under system > administration menu in gnome 2 or searching "additional drivers" in unity) , see if there proprietary drivers available graphics card.

install them, or if installed, try uninstalling it.

After Effect warning: A problem occurred when processing OpenGL commands

i have after effects cs6 in computer cs5.5 installed. 64bit windows 7 ultimate 20gb memory , 2 amd radeon hd 6900 series display adapters drivers updated hour ago (driver date 27.7.2012, version 8.982.0.0).   when trying use after ecffects, error message " after effect warning: problem occurred when processing opengl commands " when clicking composition window.   what done? not much, i'm afraid. need older graphics driver. other disable second card or play configuration. unfortunately not smart person decided cs6 no longer need manual opengl control user, there's no way suppress within program force-revert software-only modes in case of such issues...   mylenium More discussions in After Effects adobe
