Aligning objects or text along a curved path

i have variable number of text lines arrange along path of half circle. text each text-string radiating circle (the path have half circle).

 

i in adobe illustrator

 

i text evenly spaced along path dependent on how many lines of text have.

i have seen other discussions suggesting either blend-tool or brush-tool. both of these ideas not me. blend-tool make distorted shapes in between, , twist , distort text. brush tool make each text little bit 'cone-shaped', , prefer having text without such 'cone-shape'.

 

i attaching picture halfway shows intentions. in diagram have started rotating first 4-5 text-lines. have more text-strings (just above half-circle) include along path half-circle indicating.

 

the final goal each of these locality-names raditing tips in little red tree.

 

is possible in illustrator align text along path this? similar normal align objects , distribute objects.

 

i working on mac osx 10.5 adobe illustrator cs3.

make blend using simple straight lines. turn these path text objects afterwards selecting them , type > threaded text > make

 

then let text flow onto this.
