Catalog Problems in LR3
lightroom not "finding" new cataglog have created. figured there might corrupted background files, re-installed program, still no avail. -- cannot find folder in existing catalog have been using, files have not been relocated or otherwise used in way. + lightroom 3
does message read "photo missing", icon? mean when isnt "finding" it?
the folder appears in actual windows on hard drive not lightroom?

locate missing folders
if folder moved in operating system instead of in lightroom, link between catalog , folder breaks, , question-mark icon
appears on folder in folders panel.
- to restore link, right-click (windows) or control-click (mac os) on folder , choose find missing folder context menu.
- navigate file path of moved folder , click choose.
this how sync lightroom match see on harddrive:
synchronize folders
if contents of folder in catalog don’t match contents of same folder on volume, can synchronize 2 folders. when synchronize folders, have option of adding files have been added folder not imported catalog, removing files have been deleted, , scanning metadata updates. photo files in folder , subfolders can synchronized. can determine folders, subfolders, , files imported. note: the synchronize folder command not detect duplicate photos in catalog. lightroom not have function identifies duplicate files.
