moving Tags

i have photoshop 8.0 on windows xp.  upgraded computer windows 7 professional.    pictures on external hard drive.  problem getting tags move.  have followed instructions on internet either intstructions dont work or see on screen doesnt match instructions.  of tags show on imported keywords, not tags , of pictures had tags no longer have tags.  have since added few picts , few albums.  how rest of tags move new new computer , still not lose of pictures or tags on new computer??

when copy/pasteing make sure include sidecar files image files. files don't need them metadata saved in image file, whereas other files camera raw files camera require sidecar file can not edit raw file. edits in sidecar file metadata.

if never changed preferences windows explorer, odds thoses files hidden.

 

i no longer on xp, so, memory maybe fading.

 

try tools>folder options>(there should 3 tabs on window pop up, middle tab think has list of check boxes)

scroll down until find known hidden file extentions , system files. check both bothes make files become visible, clicking ok on warning.

you should see sidecar files next each raw file. ctrl-a select copy/paste want them.
