Thread: Automatic shutdown and sudo shutdown not working

automatic shutdown , sudo shutdown not working should.

automatic shutdown seems work of time, , other times not. affected vlc playing videos?

sudo shutdown used work perfectly, system goes on past specified shutdown time apparently oblivious.

command using is:

code:
sudo shutdown -g hh:mm
any ideas?

thanks.

i saw command entered , thought, "-g isn't valid parameter". did man shutdown, , sure enough, there no g parameter listed. on hunch, ran same command , got sort of shutdown. not complete shutdown, apparently -g is valid parameter.

suggest trying:
code:
sudo shutdown -h <hh:mm>
and hh:mm needs in 24-hour format.
