Thread: Can only get GNOME using VNC, not Unity

hi,

i've installed 11.04 , it's working ok. i'm having bit of trouble getting unity work on vnc connection. @ moment i'm using vnc server , lets me connect on lan without problems, gnome instead of unity. i've followed instructions on couple of pages:

http://www.techotopia.com/index.php/...sing_vncviewer

http://ubuntuforums.org/archive/inde...t-1763285.html

these don't seem have made difference. vnc server settings file looks this:

code:
#!/bin/sh    unset session_manager  . /etc/x11/xinit/xinitrc    [ -x /etc/vnc/xstartup ] && exec /etc/vnc/xstartup  [ -r $home/.xresources ] && xrdb $home/.xresources  xsetroot -solid grey  vncconfig -iconic &  x-terminal-emulator -geometry 80x24+10+10 -ls -title "$vncdesktop desktop" &
i may missing obvious, if enlighten me i'd grateful! thanks.

in experiences (under windows), vnc laggy tho had t10 connection (with 1gb ethernet connection) , didn't want transfer more 800*600 in 256 colors switched off themes , graphical...

on other hand, unity 3d high resolution - "millions , gazillions of colors" thingie ... has ever gotten unity on vnc running???
