Thread: Fresh Install No Sound

i've searched day long, on here, on google, no 1 comes definitive answer. i've tried millions of things, installed app , thing according advice people same problem, still no sound.

sound working fine when trying out ubuntu on partition, chuffed did fresh install. have no sound. vlc, amarok, clementine, audacity, audacious, every audio player in ubuntu universe doesn't play sound. it's 'hardware' or 'driver' connected because worked when still had windows 'host' partition. i'm not going windows i'll try out opensuse or see if sound thing happens on that.

please don't direct me thread can read ten million words don't in end, or ask me see if 'mute' button on. there test thing out there finds , corrects or @ least points me in right direction. don't want 'trying or solution' 9 hours.

one approach find out sound module(s) loaded when plays sound live cd (use lsmod see loaded modules). want make sure same module loaded when boot installed system.

approach might tell sound chip have there, else can on alsa project web site.

(lspci -vv show it)
