Thread: Synchronizing cache - Imgburn - Ubuntu Image
hello there!
have downloaded .iso of ubuntu official website. download went fine. i, then, tried burning image file blank cd. process went fine till got stuck @ 'synchronizing cache' step. hanging on half hour. thought disk wasted.
forced shut imgburn , thought might give disc try. (i thought i'd proceed because have been stuck @ step before, though don't remember burned or consequence was).
so, booted disc , live version running fine.
so, question "what can expect disc? 'synchronizing cache' important step really? because if absolutely necessary step, might have try again. otherwise, proceed install because live version running fine".
appreciated. thank you.
aravind.
p.s. totally forgot imgburn log important , forgot save that. although primary question right "what synchronizing cache mean (in newbie language)? absolutely important os image?" rather "what cause system hang @ step"?
synchronizing cache final step in finishing copying process of new cd. have disc has data of original, not quite complete original. synchronizing cache step not critical getting copy of want, of course, that's barring trying odd-ball things new disc.
wouldn't know think of disc wasn't quite original if happened me, though. if disc works fine, go it. should want without problems, , don't believe future problems pop because happened use disc wasn't in sync original.
if, in future, don't want use discs did not complete sync process, try burning @ lower speed. drive/software combinations, best go @ speed disc rated opposed highest 1 can push. makes better burning process , may alleviate "problem".
