Thread: write failure to disk - bad file descriptor

hi

i'm running backup routine solaris 10 box, using ufsdump, ubuntu 10.04 server. working fine until few days ago, when ubuntu server upgraded, , reinstalled, , i'm getting following error when ufsdump process trying write server:

dump: write: bad file descriptor
dump: write error 0 blocks volume 1

ufsdump process initiated backup server (ubuntu) via rsh command, runs ufsdump process remotely write server. should present no problems, , has been fine until rebuild!

thoughts?

i'd know why dump process thinks file descriptor bad , refuses write disk! there can mounted disk?

disk mounted rw on ext3 filesystem, , there no issues using rcp or tar write (but want persevere dump if poss.)
