Printing dialog box: "unresolvable conflicts"
i'm attempting set new macbook air print out custom envelope size on brother hl-5340d – i've done office computer (a black macbook os x 10.6.8). after creating print preset in indesign printer settings, having trouble getting access of more idiosyncratic printer settings (toner fixing, instance). keep running across message: "changing 'media type' 'plain paper' cause unresolvable conflict selected custom paper. no change made." additionally, having trouble reaching advanced settings under "print settings" menu of standard apple print dialog box (which encompasses brother-specific drivers). if attempt change "improve print output" settings similar message: "changing 'improve print output' 'improve toner fixing' cause unresolvable conflict selected custom paper. no change made.'
i'm imagining there conflict between indesign's printer settings (which understand adobe recommends indesigners use whenever possible, there neither "media type" nor advanced print settings in indesign print dialog box), , i've compared printer settings on black macbook (the 1 correctly printing) macbook air , can't figure out difference. suspicion have seems black macbook's printer settings in indesign somehow overriding apple/brother presets, whereas on air, that's not happening – i've created pre-set custom envelope printout complement (or thought, anyway) settings not reach within adobe box. in adobe's printer settings, instance, "custom size" option paper greyed out, there options seems must access apple/brother drivers.
does have suggestions or best practices might adopt avoid conundrum? have screenshots, seems can't attached anymore. here's printer summary. everyone, quin…
