Thread: 11.04 freezes on USB drive install

hi everyone.
i'm struggling install 11.04 on old amd sempron 3000+ 1.81 ghz, 1.00 gb of ram, running xp

i've used same usb drive installer put 11.04 on netbook , had no problems @ all.

boot install page click install click forward @ next page , freezes little after or before.
checked bios settings , pretty sure i've adjusted needed according pre-install guidance on ubuntu help.

got same problem myself.
i've tried installing both usb , dvd, both freezes @ same place (after booting, select install ubuntu, screen can tick off whether download updates while installing) , no combination of ticks on or off makes difference.

however, first time tried install, got select drive wanted install on , such, made 10gb swap drive , 3tb 4-something drive , got start installing. after while critical error message (sorry, don't remember said, boot file or needed install didn't want to). cancelled install begin again , perhaps make smaller hdd, won't allow me.

have no idea more info helpful, here some

asus extreme striker ii motherboard
intel core2 extreme
8gb ddr3 ram
4 x 1tb 7200rpm hdds in 0-raid
nvidia geforce xfx 295 gtx
x-fi soundblaster sound card

edit: downloaded iso imabe again , checked md5sum, ok. tried install again usb, still freezes @ same place.
